This is a rarely seen Shelley China, England biscuit barrel, cookie jar or cracker jar made 1910-1916. The Late Foley on the mark refers to the pottery location name.
The biscuit jar is in the Green Key and Rose pattern 10449 with a molded shape like gathered cloth tied with a bow and EPNS fittings with a fancy handle.
The British registry number for the design is 1896 and the jar lid is marked A Shaw Inverurie, JT&Co S for John Turton & Company, Sheffield.
The jar measures 9.5 inches high with handle 5.5 without by 6.5 in diameter.
The biscuit barrel is in very good ++ condition with no chips or cracks but does have plating loss on the fittings. Shelley biscuit jars are difficult to find and this is a beauty!
