This is a vintage English wood veneer cylinder box with lid that is either a biscuit barrel {cookie jar) with an aluminum insert or a tobacco humidor...the jury is still out... there is no lingering tobacco smell, if there ever was.

The lidded lined cylinder box wasmade in the 1930s in England. 

The biscuit barrel, humidor or box measures 4 inches high by 6.5 in diameter and has decoration on the lid of one of the drawings from a famous series of drawings called the Cries of London. This is the orange seller.

The biscuit box is in very good +++ used vintage condition and is a wonderful piece and so versatile.
