Pair Demi Teacups Occupied Japan 1945-1952 Antique Nippon Dutch Scene 1890s
This is a fun pair of a vintage Occupied Japan demitasse or demi tea cup and saucer made in 1945-1954 paired with a late 1890s Dutch scene demi teacup that was made at the end of the Nippon period.
The older eggshell porcelain antique demi cup is 1.55 inches high by 3 inches in diameter and the saucer is 4.18 inches in diameter with a wonderful hand painted scene of what looks like a Dutch scene by the sea with bells and blue trim.
The mark on this is a very fun Japan that was applied backward, and the porcelain work is a bit rough. Many potteries were still struggling to improve their wares at the end of the 10th century, and some funny marks are seen from this period.
The Occupied Japan demi teacup has a very pretty floral bouquet design with gold trim and has an Occupied Japan mark which was only used during 1945-1952. The cup is 2.25 inches high and the saucer measures 4.5 inches in diameter.
The cups and saucers are in very good +++ used vintage condition with no chips or cracks but do have a bit of wear, and manufacturing flaws which is also normal.
A very pretty pieces from an historic and collectible point of view!
