This is a grey stoneware with a blue sponge and stencil heart with a winged heart or flying heart design butter pat, butter chip or small butter dish.

The blue and grey or light brown butter pat measures 3.25 inches square with a sponged border and a stenciled heart with wings or flying heart design in the center.

The butter pat or butter dish is in excellent used vintage condition with no chips or cracks.

There are some slightly under glaze irregularities in the stoneware surface that reflect the light more and frequently occur in hand made stoneware pieces. No wear at all to the glaze.  

Butter pats are being used currently as ring dishes, teabag holders and for sushi and sauces.
