This is a vintage silver plated tea infuser or tea diffuser spoon used to keep tea leaves from getting into your teacup while you brew a cup of tea.

The vintage silver diffuser spoon measures 5.65 inches long and the infuser part is 2 inches long by  1.15 inches wide by 1 inch thick or deep when closed. The pierced bowl is hinged and closes with a clip at the spoon tip.

These tea diffusers were available for adding to your flatware set when ordering for the better silver flatware services.

The tea infuser or diffuser spoon is in excellent used vintage condition.
