Victorian English Teal Aesthetic English Staffordshire Tile Majolica Art Pottery 1870s Trivet
This is an antique English Aesthetic teal majolica tile made in Staffordshire, England 1870-1880s. The architectural antique tile measures .5 inches high by 6 inches square and is raised high relief floral in the Aesthetic Movement design with a gorgeous teal blue glaze.
The tile is in very good ++ used antique condition condition with no cracks but exhibits center design and edge chipping.
There are felt adhesive circles on the back as it was used for years as a teapot trivet.
A rare survival with vibrant color which would be a wonderful trivet...I use several antique tiles that way...or mounted on a wall as a decorative accent.
