This is a wonderful demitasse or small Victorian era souvenir cup and saucer in a gorgeous orange and gold with acorn shaped cup and leaf shape saucer marked A Present From New Brighton with gold trim.
The saucer is shaped like a leaf and the cup is shaped like a an acorn with a textured bottom and twig handle.
The all hand painted color is a reddish orange to white and has encrusted gold decoration and the gold hand painted script dedication A Present From New Brighton.
New Brighton is an English seaside town in Wallasey, Merseyside that was a hugely popular tourist destination in the 1880-1890s.
The cup is 2.28 inches high and the saucer is 1 inch high at the curled twig handle by 5.25 inches long by 4 wide.
The very collectible fine porcelain teacup and saucer were made most likely in the 1890s in Germany.
The sweet little souvenir gift set is in very good +++ used vintage condition with one very small shallow rim chips inside the cup, no cracks and only a bit minor gold trim wear and color wear to the saucer where yhe cup has rested for well over 100 years.
