This is a mid century neoclassical Castleton, USA tea cup and saucer with heavy burnished gold made in the USA between 1950-1967.
The bone china tea cup and saucer is in the pattern called Empire and features a blue neoclassical laurel leaf design that reminds of Napoleon with burnished, heavy gold beaded rims, trim and cup foot.
The cup is 2.25 inches high by 4 in diameter, the saucer is 6.75 in diameter and the design is influenced by the Rosenthal designers working at Castleton in the 1940s.
