This is a rare shape Shelley china, England art deco design cup and saucer made by in 1937 to commemorate the coronation of King Edward VIII of England.
The coronation never happened because the king abdicated the throne in order to marry American divorcee Wallis Simpson.
The rare Late York shape commemorative cup measures 2.75 inches high and the saucer is 5.5 inches in diameter.
The royal commemorative cup and saucer is in very good +++ used vintage condition with no chips or cracks and only very minor signs of use.
