Shelley Carnation Cream Soup Cup and Saucer Large Double Handle Cup 1938
This is a fabulous double handled bone china cream soup with liner or saucer or bouillion cup and saucer by Shelley China, England.
The pattern is Carnation 12744 the Cambridge shape with gold trim and holds 8 ounces.
The cup measures 6.75 inches long including handles by 4.75 inches in diameter by 2.25 inches high. The saucer is 6.5 inches in diameter and was made between 1938-1940.
The pattern is a lovely mix of Carnations in pink with small purple flowers and a border of tiny polka dots.
The soup cup and saucer is in excellent used vintage condition with no chips, cracks, restorations or any wear. A beautiful set.
These double handles cups and saucers are also being utilized as breakfast or latte cups because of their larger size and work well for serving bowls at the tea table.
Double handled cups are easy for someone with a tremor to drink from. That's from my husband with Parkinson's Disease!
I love this pretty pattern and it would make a treat of any cup of doup or tea!
