Poppies Plate Hand Painted Plate Haviland Limoges France 1910s Artistan
This is a gorgeous hand painted luncheon plate with a design of hand painted Poppies and burnished gold trim painted by an artisan with initials B.B. on a blank plate from Haviland, Limoges France 1900-1920s.
Plate painting on a plate purchased as a white "blank" and painted in the US or England by a cottage artist was a popular pastime by genteel ladies.
The plate measures 8.5 inches in diameter, and features beautifully captured orange to red Poppies from bud to flower on a lovely green background with burnished gold trim.
The pretty porcelain plate is in excellent used vintage condition with no chips or cracks, and only very minor gold wear.
A lovely addition to a tea table as a lemon plate or for cake or dessert.
