Necklace Egyptian Scarab Pendant White Milk Glass And GF Chain King Tut Exhibit
This is a white milk glass carved scarab beetle pendant necklace consisting of a 3 dimensional bezel set scarab pendant or charm on an 18 inch long gold filled rope chain.
The carved milk glass scarab measures 1 inch high by .65 inch wide and is on an 18 inch rope chain with roll clasp.
The pendant or charm was created in 1975 after the popularity of the King Tutankhamun exhibit in the USA started a craze for all things Egyptian.
The scarab beetle is an Egyptian symbol of eternal life, as the beetle is believed to carry the sun god Ra before it as the sun on his eternal daily journeys across the sky.
The back is carved, but are nor actual hieroglyphics but decorative symbols.
The scarab beetle necklace is in very good +++ used vintage condition with a few dark specks in the white milk glass.
