Tuscan, Plant Tuscan, England

SKU:
  • $ 2800

This is a wonderful 8 inch in diameter lunch plate of Regency era Strawberry sellers at Covent Garden, London made by Plant Tuscan, England 1940-1950s.

The design is taken from an engraving of one of a series of paintings called Cries Of London by Wheatly done between 1792-1796 of the Regency period sellers around Covent Garden markets in London.

The series is named for the cry or call made by the sellers hawking their wares.

This collectors plate is in excellent used vintage condition with no chips or cracks and is very decorative as well as a window into regency dress.
