Handkerchiefs Belgian Lace 4 Napkins Hand Made Monogram H B B Point De Gaz
This is a set of 4 absolutely gorgeous antique Victorian all hand made fine linen ladies handkerchiefs or napkins that feature a hand made border of Point De Gaz Belgian lace dating to 1880-1910.
The handkerchief came from an English estate lot of 8 we acquired and were so treasured they were never used and had been passed down through 3 generations of a family as a wedding present and then put away.
The price is for one set of 4, but we have 2 sets of 4... just contact us if interested in 8 for a discount. The handkerchief is 15 inches square with a drawn thread and ladder work.
There is a Bourdon stitch hand embroidered graceful script monogram of entwined H. B. B., center placed B. A hand made .75 inch border of the hand made bobbin lace Point De Paris finishes each one off.
This is exceptionally fine and the seamless corners are superb. This skill died out as a commercial skill about 1910. It is highly prized and priced in the European museums and markets today. Absolutely beautiful work.
