English Salt Dip Pair Antique Honeycomb Diamond Cut Glass 1910-1920s Open Salts

England, vintage

SKU:
  • $ 2800

This is an antique pair of clear cut glass salt dips or open salts in the Honeycomb or Diamond pattern made 1910-1920s in England.

Each open salt or salt dip measures .75 inch high by 2 inches in diameter and has 6 sides and a 12 point cut star bottom.

This salt is pictured on page 147 of 5000 Open Salts by Heacock and Johnson.

The salt dips or salt cellars are in very good ++ used vintage condition but they both have quite a bit of tiny chipping on the inside rim. There is a bit of excess glass in the bottom of one.

There is a slight color difference in the pair with one being a slightly purple color when compared with the other.
Open salts make wonderful ring holders, individual sauce dishes or teabag holders now...

Also for rings or paper clips...very useful!
