SKU:
This is a green transfer or transferware butter chip or butter pat made by John Maddock and Son, Ltd., England from 1901-1908 in the Dorothy pattern.
The butter pat or small plate measures 3.25 inches in diameter and is made of Royal Vitreous porcelain.
The butter pat, which makes a wonderful teabag caddy now, has a green floral transfer border design with gold trim.
The butter pat is in very good ++ condition with no chips, cracks or gold wear but does have visible crazing.
Butter pats are being used currently as ring dishes, teabag holders and for sushi and sauces. A cute, small and practical work of art and victoriana.
