Antique Staffordshire Aesthetic Cup And Saucer 1880s Hand Colored Poppies Butterflies Squared

Antique Staffordshire, England

SKU:
  • $ 000

This is an Aesthetic Movement or English Arts And Crafts Movement squared teacup and saucer with a gorgeous hand colored design on brown transfer of poppies and other flowers with butterflies with blue borders and gold trim.

The antique Staffordshire cup and saucer was in England in the 1880s and has an impressed mark that I have been unable to identify.

The pattern number is 2070.

The cup is 2.75 inches high with a square base and what is called an antique twig handle, and the saucer is 5.75 inches in diameter with a square shape.

The teacup and saucer are in very good +++ used vintage condition with no chips or cracks, but does have some tiny kiln dust specks, minor gold wear and a couple of stray gilder's marks.

A very striking and unusual antique teacup for your collection or tea table.
