Mid Victorian English Blue Transferware Plate Chinese Pattern 7 Inch Polychrome
SKU:
This is a wonderful mid Victorian era hand colored on flow blue transfer or transferware plate in the Chinese Pattern aka Tea House made by Hope and Carter, Staffordshire England 1862-1880 with a lusterware finish as well.
The design of the 7 inch polychrome transferware plate features, as expected, a Chinese scene with maidens and tea house and Peony border.
The earthenware hand colored transferware plate is in very good +++ used vintage condition with no chips or cracks. There is a bit of wear on the edges, but overall very good for it's age.
A wonderfully decorative early example.
There may be a mineral speck as well, called kiln dust from the firing process of the 100+ year old gorgeous plate which is so collectible and decorative.
