This is a 1930s silver plated tea infuser or tea diffuser spoon used to keep tea leaves from getting into your teacup while you brew a cup of tea.

The silver plated tea infuser spoon in in the Henley pattern from 1930 by 1881 Rogers Silver, USA, now part of Oneida Silver Company.

The vintage silver diffuser spoon measures 5.65 inches long and the infuser part is 2 inches long by  1.15 inches wide by 1 inch thick or deep when closed. The pierced bowl is hinged and closes with a clip at the spoon tip.

These tea diffusers were available for adding to your flatware set when ordering for the better silver flatware services.

The Henley pattern has an at deco shape and a narrow flower and foliage border with a classic leaf top. There is an area for a monogram but there is not one.

The tea infuser or diffuser spoon is in excellent used vintage condition.

A great way to make a cup of tea with loose tea adding an elegant accent!
