This is a sugar basin, sugar bowl or clotted cream bowl made by Dartmouth Pottery, Devon England in the 1950s in a pattern called Princess Margaret Dots.

The pattern was created and became very popular after a visit of Princess Margaret, younger sister of Queen Elizabeth II in 1951 to the Royal Naval College in Dartmouth where she wore a dress of white polka dots on blue.

The sugar basin or bowl measures 2 inches high by 4 in diameter.

Dartmouth Pottery is much better known of being one of the famous historic makers of mottoware pottery items so popular with collectors.

The sugar basin or clotted cream bowl is in very good +++ used vintage condition with no chips, cracks or wear.
