This is a great Gibsons, England art deco 3 piece pottery teaset made in the 1920-1930s.

The teapot, cream and sugar are made of red clay pottery and has blue bands and cream bands overlaid with a black transferware print that was then hand painted.

The transfer is a brightly painted landscape with fantastic or fantasy birds. There is gold trim and also a gold spout, handle and finial.

The teapot measures 5.5 inches high by 9 inches long by 5.5 inches in diameter.  

The tea set is in what I would call near excellent used vintage condition with no chips or cracks and not even any gold wear. There is some mild crazing, but that is normal for this age and glaze.  Amazingly no chips! This set has been treasured!

A wonderful set that is so evocative of the art deco design period when it was made. Love the fantasy birds!
