This is an antique large Imari pattern teapot in the Beatrice pattern made by Hancock & Sons, England between 1912 and 1937 in their Corona Ware line.

The hand colored on transferware teapot measures 6.5 inches high by 11 inches long spout tip to handle edge by 6.5 inches in diameter.

The antique ironstone teapot has cobalt blue medallions with a floral pattern of hand colored flowers with metallic gold accents and trim.

The teapot is in very good ++ used vintage condition with no chips, gold trim wear from use, and a repair on the lid that doesn't show from when the lid is in place in the top.

Imari was popularized by the Victorian craze for Japanese colors and designs at the time and was heavily copied for the English market. Various forms are also called Gaudy English and Gaudy Welsh and were popular until the 1940s.
