This is a late victorian antique Wedgwood, England dark blue jasper or jasperware dip biscuit barrel or biscuit jar with a glazed white interior that was made 1870-1891.

The biscuit or cookie jar measures 5.5 inches high by 5 inches in diameter and has silver plate fittings, lid, bottom frame and an unusual flange base.

The biscuit jar or barrel has the applied white jasper classical motif of Sacrifice Figures and is marked WEDGWOOD on the bottom.

The biscuit barrel or cookie jar is in very good +++ used vintage condition with the only flaw a very small old repaired chip on the rim of the flange base and one area of slightly darker blue on the side of the jar.

It is a fabulous antique mid to late victorian piece of typical Wedgwood superior workmanship.
