This is a neat English hand cut crystal knife rest or knife holder like a classical column made 1890-1910 and measuring 1.5 inches high by 3.5 inches long.

The hexagonal bar has double faceted flattened ball ends.

The knife rest is in near excellent used vintage condition with a few minor facet fleabites and 2-3 tiny nicks on the bar, which is seldom found.

 Knife rests were an important part of a victorian table service and propped your dinner or carving knife up to keep it off the tablecloth. They are becoming a fashionable addition to dining and tea tables today again.
