Edwardian Floral Transferware Johnson Brothers Butter Pat 1900-1913 Hand Colored

Johnson Brothers

SKU:
  • $ 1600

This is a Johnson Brothers, England ironstone small dish, butter pat or butter chip in a pretty hand colored on sepia transferware with a mark dating it to 1900-1913, roughly the Edwardian era.

The molded semi porcelain is ironstone, and the pretty design is swags and flowers in sepia hand colored with blue, pink and green.

The butter pat or pin dish is 3 inches in diameter and is in very good +++ used vintage condition with no chips or cracks and only a few minor normal signs of use.

Butter pates, which were an optional to order with your dinner service, would also work as a tea bag holder, lemon slice dish, sauce server or any number of other things on the tea table, as well as holding many things in other rooms including rings or paper clips.
