Horse Brass Queen Victoria Diamond Jubilee 1837-1897 The Record
SKU:
This is a souvenir horse brass or pub brass commemorating Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee in 1897 of 50 years on the throne, being crowned in 1837, called The Record.
The royal commemorative souvenir brass is in excellent condition and measures 3.5 inches high by 3 wide.
The Queen Victoria jubilee brass was sand cast then polished.
This horse brass, however is definitely a 1911 copy done for King George V's coronation.
Horse brasses were developed in the 17th century to decorate and identify draft horses and are very collectible. In England you see them decorating the beams in pubs or hung by the fireplace in homes, or used as Christmas tree ornaments.
