This is a pair of wonderful Bluebird or blue birds 6.5 inches in diameter porcelain plates which was such a popular motif in the 1920-1930s. The Czech bluebird plates are hand colored on transfer with a gold rim.

The plates are marked with a star surrounded by the words Made In Czechoslovakia, but I can't identify the maker.

The bluebirds are a symbol of happiness. The fine porcelain plates are in very good +++ used vintage condition. The only flaw is a bit of pattern wear and the teensiest rim chip on one that isn't seen but more felt.

They are so cute and so decorative, and there are Bluebird china collector societies!
