Edwardian English Ironstone Lunch Plate Golden Brown Transferware Pansies 1895-1905
This is an antique English ironstone plate with a golden brown transferware pattern called Victoria made between 1895-1900 by the Upper Hanley Pottery, England.
The Victoria transferware pattern features a floral that I think looks like pansies with hand painted metallic gold accents and trim, which looks black in the photos until the light hits it.
The large salad, small dinner or luncheon plate measures 9 inches in diameter and is in very good +++ used vintage condition with some gold trim loss, crazing and a shallow rim chip that was painted gold at some time.
A very unusual color and pretty late Victorian design.
But a wonderful shabby and unusual English ironstone set to love in a seldom seen yellow transferware colorway!
