Victorian Coaching Scene Biscuit Barrel Antique Red 1920s Cookie Jar
This is an antique biscuit barrel, biscuit jar or cookie jar made in the 1920s by Lancaster and Sandland, England. The ceramic biscuit jar has a neat all around design of a victorian scene centering around a coaching inn with wine red borders. The biscuit barrel measures 7 inches high without the handle by 5.5 in diameter and has silver plated EPNS fittings with a maker's mark of a butterfly which I couldn't identify. The biscuit or cracker jar is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. The only flaw is very minor silver loss on the rim. A wonderfully decorative as well as useful item. Perfect for storing your rich tea biscuits with panache.
