Polychrome Transferware Butter Pat Ventnor Antique 1890s Boote England
This is a polychrome transfer or transferware butter chip or butter pat in a pattern called Ventnor made by T & R Boote, England from 1892-1906. The butter pat measures 3 inches in diameter and is made of semi porcelain, or ironstone. The butter pat, which makes a wonderful teabag caddy now, has a brown floral transfer border design with hand colored accents. The butter pat is in very good ++= condition with no chips, cracks or gold wear but does have the odd mineral impurity or kiln dust which is normal for this age and material.
