Cup And Saucer Willow Red Transferware England Ridgway Old Willow 1890s
This is a Ridgway, England red transfer or transferware ironstone cup and saucer in the Willow, Red Willow or Old Willow, as variously named by various manufacturers. The cup and saucer made in the 1890s. The cup is 2.5 high, the saucer is 5.75 in diameter and the scenic or landscape design is the typical Willow design with bridge, pagoda a 2 birds. The cup is an early production. The cup and saucer are in very good ++ condition with no chips or cracks but there are some manufacturing flaws of glaze dimpling and general crazing which happens with this age and the glaze used. But what a great decorative pattern!
