Staffordshire Blue Transferware Glencoe Cake Plate 1850s Bread Plate

Antique Staffordshire, England

SKU:
  • $ 1800

This is an antique English blue transferware plate made in the Staffordshire region of England 1850-1870s in a pattern called Glencoe from one of the undocumented potters in the mid victorian era in Staffordshire. The ironstone 7 inch in diameter plate has an early aesthetic and geometric blue transferware design on a molded and scalloped shape with gold trim. The plate is in very good ++ condition with no chips or cracks, but does have some kiln dust specks and gold wear. A wonderful example of victorian tea ware.
