Plate Flow Blue Aesthetic Movement Ocean Scenes Blue Transferware 1890s Seashells
This is an antique flow blue transferware plate or charger in the Aesthetic Movement or English Arts and Crafts design of Ocean Scenes made by Bates and Bennett, England between 1891-1895 during the late Victorian era.
The plate measures 10.5 inches in diameter and features a vignette of a sailing ship with shells and sea weed and other ocean motifs.
The plate is in in very good +++ used vintage condition with no chips or cracks and barely any sign of use at all.
A wonderful example of Aesthetic Movement or English Arts and Crafts design, which is one of my most favorite design periods.
