A wonderful find to set an elegant dining or tea table. From an English estate collection we recently acquired.
Knife rests were a creation to keep knives or serving pieces and serving utensils off the table cloths so the cloths remained clean. With the victorian passion for beautifying everything, knife rests were dining table works of art and are very collectible. Presently undergoing a renaissance for the dining table and tea table. We have even supplied sets to sommelier tables.
