After Dinner Coffee Set Midwinter Riverside Forest Green Leaves Pot 4 Cups And Saucers 1960s
SKU:
This is a wonderful retro coffee or tall teapot set made by Midwinter, England in the Riverside pattern in the 1950-1960s consisting of a coffee pot and 4 demitasse sized after dinner cup and saucers.
The coffee set was designed by John Russell and is in the very moderne, retro mid century Fashion shape with avocado green lid, a streamlined shape and is part of the Stylecraft line.
The coffee pot measures 7.75 inches high by 7.5 inches long by 4.5 inches wide.
The stylish and elegant coffe pot or tall tea pot is in very good +++ used condition with a tiny base chip that doesn't show until the pot is lifted and some crazing which is normal for Midwinter's glaze at this time. There is a line in the photo, but it is a strat decorator's paint line, NOT a crack or flaw.
The retro square shaped cups and saucers each measure 2.25 inches high and hold the after dinner cup size of 4-5 ounces, and the saucers are 4.75 inches square. There is one tiny glaze chip on a cup handle as seen in the photo.
Midwinter was acquired by Wedgwood in the late 1960s, after this set was made.
A cool retro set in great retro colors and stylish design!
