English Imari Cup Saucer Plate Staffordshire Doric Vintage 1920s Downton Style

Doric, England

SKU:
  • $ 6800

This is a vintage English Imari teacup trio consisting of cup, saucer and plate made by Doric China, Staffordshire, England in 1926-1935.

Imari became popular with the influence of japanese ceramics at that time.

The elegant ironstone Imari transferware teacup trio features hand painted flow blue, rust and green on a brown transferware floral stylized design with gold trim on the cup and saucer but not the squared tea plate.

The cup stands 2.75 inches high and is 3.25 inches in diameter, the deep saucer is 5.5 inches in diameter and the plate is 6 inches with squared corners.

All of the pieces are in very good +++ used vintage condition with no chips, cracks or restorations but does have some gold wear.

A lovely set, I even saw it on a Downton Abbey episode.
