This is a fabulous vintage silver plated toast rack or toast holder with an attached embossed crumb tray with 2 milk glass dishes, a spoon and a butter knife, often referred to as a breakfast set made in Sheffield, England in the 1940s.

The decorative silverplated 6 slice toast rack or toast holder with attacher hammered silver plated tray measures 5.5 inches high to the top of the handle arch by 9.25 long by 4.5 wide including the hammered crumb tray.

The 2 milk glass dishes, usually for jam one side and butter the other have star bottoms and each measure .75 of an inch high by 3.5 inches long by 2.25 inches wide.

The spoon is 5 inches long and the butter spreader measures 4.85 inches long.

The vintage silver plated toast holder is in very good +++ used vintage condition with some discolored areas as shown. The dishes are in excellent condition with no chips or cracks, which is rare. The spoon and fork have discolorations as shown.

Toast racks are also very popular today as letter holders or napkin holders and who knows what else you can think of!

As the dishes are removeable, they toast rack counld be used in many ways, and you can certainly get creative about what to use the entire set for. I have heard them used with jam and cream for scones at a tea, with caviar and toast for a buffet and lemon slices and napkins at the dinner table. So versatile!
