This is a commemorative plate made for the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II of England in 1953 by Collingwood, Canada in the Georgian line for the Canadian market with 22 kt gold.
The porcelain souvenir plate measures 9.65 inches in diameter, features mulberry or reddish purple transferware graphics and portraits of Elizabeth and Philip and a heavy gold band overlay border, which is difficult to photograph, featuring the shields of all the Canadian provinces.
The plate is in very good +++ used vintage condition with no chips or cracks but does have some gold wear and one minor scratch to the Queen's face. A neat item of British and Canadian Royal memorabilia.
