Vintage MMA Mistletoe and Acorn Bisque Porcelain Teapot by Met Museum of Art

This is a lovely embossed bisque porcelain Christmas, holiday or winter teapot made in the 1980s by the MMA, or Metropolitan Museum Of Art in New York, USA featuring mistletoe and oak leaves and acorns.

The teapot measures 5.5 inches tall including lid, by 8.5 inches from spout to handle, and is 5.5 inches in diameter and holds 24 ounces.

Since its opening, the Met has commissioned experienced artisans to create detailed reproductions of art and other decorative items in their collections that are true to the originals. The sale of these items has helped finance the Met's mission throughout the years.

This teapot was created by artisans of the Metropolitan Museum of Art and has mark, M.M.S. engraved on the bottom.

The natural off white or cream bisque unglazes porcelain teapot is decorated with intertwining branches of mistletoe and oak with acorns in embossed or bas relief. The teapot handle and lid handle are decorated as oak branches. Although the outside of the teapot is matte, the inside of the teapot has a glossy glaze.

The festive winter or holiday themed teapot is in excellent used vintage condition with no chips or cracks.
