This is an antique butter chip, butter pat or small butter plate made in the 1890-1900 by a German or Austrian maker with a teal blue transferware floral pattern.

The ironstone butter pat measures .5 inch high by 3.5 inches in diameter and is made of embossed ironstone with a pretty teal blue floral wreath.

The butter pat, which makes a wonderful teabag caddy now, is  marked but I can't identify the maker.

The butter pat or teabag holder is in very good +++ used vintage condition with no chips or cracks but shows its age with some normal manufacturing flaws like a few bits of kiln dust.

Pretty pattern and so versatile for so many uses.
