Coronation Cup King Edward VIII Beaker Abdicated 1937 British Royal Memorabilia
This is a British Royal memorabilia beaker or cup made in 1937 to commemorate the coronation of King Edward VIII of England.
The coronation never happened because the king abdicated the throne in order to marry American divorcee Wallis Simpson.
The ceramic cup or beaker was made by Solian Ware, Soho Pottery Ltd. England and is 4.5 high by 3.5 inches in diameter an features a color profile of Edward VII with dedication and color surround and his cipher on the reverse.
The cup, beaker mug is in very good +++ used vintage condition with no chips or cracks. There is a bit of crazing and very minor discoloration from use on the interior. A wonderful piece of royal memorabilia, a history of England collectible and a great conversation starter at your next tea party.
