This is a blue transferware cup and saucer in the blue Tonquin design made by Royal Staffordshire, England dating to the 1960s featuring the mark including the art director Clarice Cliff.

The cup and saucer has a blue transferware or transfer ware pastoral landscape scene usually featuring buildings, water and bridges with a mixed floral border.

The cup is 2.25 inches high and is in what is usually called the New York shape, and the saucer is 5.75 inches in diameter.

The cup and saucer is in very good +++ used vintage condition with no chips, cracks or wear. There are a couple of tiny mineral deposits from the firing, a maybe a misplaced transfer speck.

Transferware is so versatile and always perfect!
