This is an antique butter chip, butter pat or small butter plate made in the 1890-1910 by Homer Laughlin, USA.

The butter pat is unmarked, but I have bone dishes to match which are marked, although I can't read the faded pattern name.

The ironstone butter pat measures 3.25 inches in diameter and is made of scalloped ironstone with a gold foliage pattern like ivy and gold trim and is in excellent used vintage condition with no chips, cracks or wear and only mild crazing, which is quite normal.

The butter pat, which makes a wonderful teabag caddy now, is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks but showing age crazing normal for the material.
