Description
This is a neat English village scene with thatched cottages trivet or tea tile that was acquired in England in the 1970s. The tea tile or trivet measures 6 inches square and has a cork backing to protect the table surface with an embedded metal ring so the tile can be hung on the wall as a decorative accent. The basic color is a white ceramic with a bright colored nostalgic English village street design with thatched cottages and a church spire in the distance.  Looks like the Cotswolds to me. The tile was actually purchased in Bourton-on-the-Water in the Cotswolds. The tea tile is in excellent, mint condition with no chips, cracks or wear and the only signs of use are some mild staining on the cork on the back which asides from the stains is in excellent condition. A great pattern that just shouts vintage England and perfect for any tea time or tea table.
