Description
This is the badge or medal called the Silver War Badge from World War I awarded in 1916 by King George V of England to Army personnel  "Who have served at home and abroad since 4th August 1914 and who on account of age or physical infirmity arising from wounds or sickness caused by military service have, in the case of Officers, retired or relinquished their commission, or, in the case of men, have been discharged from the Army".   The badge is sterling silver, marked with the soldier's number which in this case is 452791 and measures 1.25 inches in diameter. The badge reads "For King and country...Services Rendered" and was issued from 1916 on authority of Army Order. A very important WWI badge for England. The badge is in very good +++ condition with a replaced pin in the C clasp on the back.
