Description
This is a British royal commemorative cup and saucer made by Wileman, Foley China, soon to be Shelley China to commemorate the Queens 60th year jubilee 1837-1897. The cup and saucer is a fabulous piece of historical royal memorabilia for Queen Victoria. The cup and saucer is in the rare Victoria shape that was design specifically for the jubilee and named Victoria for the queen. The cup and saucer are a demitasse size. The cup is 2.25 inches high and the saucer is 4.5 in diameter. The design is hand colored enamel on black transfer of shield and a bouquet of roses, shamrocks and thistles for the countries of the kingdom with gold trim. The teacup and saucer are in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or gold wear. This are a few bubbles in the glaze from manufacturing on the front, but this set has been treasured in a china cabinet. A wonderful piece of royal memorabilia.
