Description
This is an antique Chelsea Grape or Grandmother's lugged cake serving plate or platter made in Staffordshire, England by one of several manufacturers between 1830-1880. The sprigged pattern has embossed swags and blue grape sprigs highlighted with copper luster. The cake plate or platter is in very good +++ condition with no chips or cracks. There is a bit of mineral deposits or kiln dust from the manufacturing process which is perfectly normal for the date of manufacture. A wonderful victorian survival and very collectible.
