This is an antique early Staffordshire, England blue and black soft paste porcelain transfer or transferware tea cup and saucer in the New London shape made during the reign of Queen Victoria in 1850-1870s. The design has a blue gothic or moorish design with black portraits of people in midieval dress. The teacup and saucer are in very good condition with only 2 old cup rim chips and some age discoloration. A wonderful piece of polychrome transferware and victoriana.
